the artist
hey you!
Thanks for coming! I’m Ashli & I’m so glad you’re here. I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself before we meet, so if you’re interested in getting to know me, you’re exactly where you need to be! I’m a hair & makeup artist located in downtown Ocean Springs, but I’ve only just relocated here from Illinois (& I’ve loved every bit of living on The Coast since the moment I got here!). I’ve been in the industry since 2012 which is WILD! I have experience in all fields of this beautiful industry, but my passion & my specialized expertise lie in a few specific areas: makeup, lived-in color, & hair extensions. Makeup has always been my foremost passion. Actually, here’s a fun fact for you—I never even wanted to do hair at all! I was only interested in being a makeup artist. However, my area didn’t have a makeup artistry school, so I thought the cosmetology program would at least open doors to get my foot in the industry. During my time in college, I realized that I actually loved doing hair as well—so here I am; almost a decade deep into a career that I love just as much as I did in 2012. Okay, let’s get back on track—makeup: I have a broad range of experience in different mediums & settings. I do beauty, stage, editorial, body paint, & I especially love special fx. I’ve worked in every setting from weddings to halloween parties, theater to photography, magazines to tv & film. Moving on to haircolor: I. LOVE. LIVED-IN. COLOR! Low-maintenance sun-kissed colors, purposeful root shadows, & bright face-framing pieces are very on trend & my favorite thing to do for my clients. Now, that’s not to say I don’t LOVE a fun & vibrant vivid color—because that’s a VERY close second on my color trend menu. Finally…..EXTENSIONS! Let me tell you, friend: if I could fill my schedule from start to finish with extension clients, I would be a happy stylist. I offer i-tip micro-bead strands, tape-ins, & am currently working primarily with beaded sew-in wefts (often mislabeled as the hand-tied method, but that’s a conversation for another time…). One thing that’s important to know about me as a stylist is that I am thorough & meticulous. This means your appointments with me will probably be longer than what you’re used to. To me, getting the details right is worth the extra time; so if you plan to hire me as your stylist, please be prepared to spend some time with me. I think I’ve covered the necessities, but if you have any other questions for me prior to booking, please click here to ask me anything! I look so forward to meeting you, & I genuinely mean that. See you soon, friend!
